Two sisters who are actually identical twins have given birth to baby daughters in the same hospital and just a few minutes apart.

Identical twin sisters from New Jersey gave birth to two baby girls 6 minutes apart, just across the hall from each other.

According to New York Daily Times, Stephanie Edginton, who gave birth to Cora, had an original due date of Feb. 5, so when she still hadn’t gone into labour by Feb. 8, she booked a doctor’s appointment for Monday morning.

An hour before she was set to see the doctor, Edginton started having contractions and headed to hospital. Her twin sister, Nicole Montgomery, who was also at the end of her third trimester, wasn’t due with her little bundle of joy, Louisa, until Valentine’s Day.

On Edginton’s way to the hospital, she called her family to tell them she was en route.

"As I was calling my family to tell them I was going in, they told me my sister was going in, too," Edginton said

Edginton then called her sister to tell her the good news. According to her, Montogomery was real excited.

When they arrived at the hospital, they found out they would be giving birth just across the hall from one another.

“As I was getting checked into my labor room, she was able to come in and say hi,” Edginton said.

"I feel very blessed to be going through this with my best friend," added Montgomery.

The sisters said that this isn't the first time their unique twin bond has come into play. The women themselves were born just 3 minutes apart, and they’ve been in sync with each other ever since.

"We are very close," Edginton said “We went to the same college, we went to the same grad school — the same sorority.”

The girls even recalled several occasions when they unintentionally dressed alike. They even have the same job — they both work as speech and language pathologists.

The two sisters think their daughters will have the same bond that they have.
