Goat milk has many vitamins and other essential elements for nourishing the skin. These include vitamins A, E, C, some of the B vitamins, amino and citric acids, unsaturated fatty acids and zinc. It has smaller molecules than cow milk and shorter strand proteins facilitating its easy absorption into your skin, making it a better choice for skin care.

If you are looking for a safe and natural remedy to solve some of your skin issues or you just want glowing skin, Goat milk products should definitely be at the top of your list.

Here are some ways you can use Goat Milk

As an Exfoliant
Seen all those facial creams and lotions that advertise Alpha-hydroxyl Acid (AHA) as their star ingredient? Alpha-hydroxyl acid is used as an exfoliating agent. Goat milk has it naturally! It contains concentrated levels of lactic acid (which is an AHA) that helps to slough off dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This process reveals new and healthier skin cells which results in brighter skin. It even helps fade scars over time.

For Acne
While goat milk is not the ‘cure’ for acne, it has many properties that are beneficial to skin affected by acne. Its anti bacterial properties allow it to kill acne causing bacteria and limit their growth.

When consumed, the probiotics in raw goat milk can kill off bad bacteria in your gut and in your face that can cause acne

Dry Skin
Due to its high fat molecule content, goat milk has anti-inflammatory properties that helps to soothe dry and damaged skin. Goat milk contains natural emollients and triglycerides that act as natural moisturisers. The lactic acid in it is also a powerful humectant; i.e. it has great hydrating abilities. Goat milk has a PH level similar to human skin which prevents dryness and protects the skin while allowing its nutrients to penetrate it.

Eczema
It is a skin issue that affects a large number of people today. The most prevalent type of eczema is atopic eczema. Indicators of it are itchy, swollen, dry, ashy, and scaly patches on the skin. Many people who suffer from eczema have found short and long term relief from the topical application of goat milk. Short term, goat milk is known to moisturise damaged skin and alleviate itchiness. In the long term, using goat milk will help the skin fight allergens found in the environment and help hydrate the skin.

Psoriasis
While there is no particular study or scientific basis for this claim. A lot of people suffering from psoriasis have reported significant improvements of their skin conditions. Everyone’s skin is different so it might not work for you but it will definitely not aggravate your symptoms. Try it out!

Goat milk isn’t just for people with dry skin or any of the above mentioned conditions. All skin types stand to benefit from it. Goat milk soaps are better than commercial soaps because they have higher glycerin and super-fatting content. Also, it is usually made with fats like olive oil, avocado oil and Shea butter, which have natural skin conditioning properties and does not contain harsh additives like alcohol and petroleum (reducing the possibility of skin irritation).

Incorporate goat milk into your skin care regimen by purchasing natural products made with it such as soaps, hand and body lotions, face creams, bath salts , shampoos and lip balms.

Tip: Soaps made from goat milk and colloidal oatmeal are “extra” beneficial for those who have sensitive skin, as oatmeal is also soothing and anti-inflammatory in nature.

Note: It is recommended that you speak to your health care provider before using a natural goats milk product on a severe skin condition.
