It has been going on for almost a year now. I am 20, he is 28. I really care about him but he gives me mixed signals. He used to sleep around at weekends but also with me on a regular basis. We cannot stay away from each other.

 

He knows I like him but during arguments he tells me about other girls to upset me. I have met his mum. He adores her and she really likes me.

 

One time when he was being really sweet he told me I am the only girl he has ever introduced to her. He also gives me money to help me out when he has it. I know that he has never done that for any other girl.

 

For a while we spent almost every day together.

 

Now all that has changed and he is again telling me he does not like me.

 

He still gets in touch when he feels like s*x, though. I get a lot of male attention from elsewhere and I know I could easily find another boyfriend but I cannot resist this guy.

 

I cannot work out if he genuinely likes me but is just scared of commitment. I get hysterical and really upset when we argue and he tells me he is not going to see me again. In spite of that I always end up round at his house after a couple of days.

 

Friends comment on the fact that we are not able to stay away from one another. They ask him why he is not with me all the time and call him a fool.

 

He just laughs it off. I hate not knowing where I stand or how he really feels about me.
