Disgraced, Humiliated & Axed: England Coach, Allardyce Fired After 67-day Reign...Shocking Details

Posted by Odinaka on Wed 28th Sep, 2016 - tori.ng

The English Football Association and Sam Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract following conduct judged to be 'inappropriate of the England manager.'

61-year-old newly appointed coach of the England senior national team, Sam Allardyce, was last night axed as Three Lions manager after an FA showdown over him being caught in a sting advising on how to “get round” rules on players.

Allardyce was handed a £1million pay-off as he lost his £3million-a-year job after just 67 days and one game – the shortest-ever reign of a permanent England manager - when he was filmed chasing a £400,000 deal to top up his salary.

Allardyce whose departure makes him England’s shortest-serving manager, left the position by mutual consent after being secretly filmed by Daily Telegraph journalists discussing how to ‘get around’ the organisation’s rules prohibiting the third-party ownership of players.

The FA hierarchy were furious at the damage caused to the organisation’s reputation. Allardyce’s attempts to defend himself – declaring in an emergency Wembley meeting on Tuesday morning that he had not engaged in corrupt conduct and would apologise for mocking his predecessor Roy Hodgson – were not enough to satisfy an organisation which wants to project a modern, transparent image.

A statement by the governing body read:

"The FA can confirm that Sam Allardyce has left his position as England manager. Allardyce’s conduct, as reported today, was inappropriate of the England manager.

"He accepts he made a significant error of judgement and has apologised. However, due to the serious nature of his actions, The FA and Allardyce have mutually agreed to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

"This is not a decision that was taken lightly but The FA’s priority is to protect the wider interests of the game and maintain the highest standards of conduct in football.

"The manager of the England men’s senior team is a position which must demonstrate strong leadership and show respect for the integrity of the game at all times.

"Gareth Southgate will take charge of the men’s senior team for the next four matches against Malta, Slovenia, Scotland and Spain whilst The FA begins its search for the new England manager.

"The FA wishes Sam well in the future."

Gareth Southgate has been appointed as England manager on a temporary basis. The England Under-21s coach will now oversee the remaining senior games of 2016 as a search for a new manager begins.

"Gareth Southgate will take charge of the men's senior team for the next four matches against Malta, Slovenia, Scotland and Spain whilst The FA begins its search for the new England manager," a Football Association statement read.
