Six armed robbers did the unthinkable after storming the house of a woman and her daughter-in-law only to find nothing valuable to steal.

Two women were left bruised and in pain after they were repeatedly r*ped by a six-man armed robbery gang on Saturday in Bondeni, Lugari District in Kakamega County of Kenya.

According to eDaily, the men, who were armed with crude weapons, had gone to steal from the victims but were angered when they did not find desired property and money in the house.

The gang then resorted to raping their victims, a woman and her daughter-in-law, at 2am Saturday.

“They woke me up, covered my eyes with a piece of cloth and led me to a nearby cassava plantation. They threw me on the ground and ordered me to undress, of which I declined. They then removed my innerwear and raped me in turns. When they were done, one of the men asked another to stab me with a knife.

“However, the man (who was asked to stab me) refused, saying I have a lot of money that I would give them. So, when they left me and went for my daughter-in-law (who had been held custody by one of the gang members), I ran to the house of our villager elder who provided me with security until morning, when I reported the matter to the chief,” one of the rape victims said.

The police are now looking for the evil men after they escaped to an unknown location. Bondeni residents have urged police to ensure security is beefed up in the area, and perpetrators of the heinous act are brought to book.

Kakamega County police coordinator Paul Kerich has said investigations are ongoing to establish whether there is an organised gang out to terrorize residents in the area.
