Hoseni Sumaila, a young man working as a houseboy, has been charged before an Apapa Magistrates’ court sitting in Lagos State.

He was charged for allegedly charming his employer.

Sumaila was said to have visited a fake spiritualist identified as Femi Sunday, who prepared him a love portion to charm his boss ‘to love him more.’

However, when he reportedly administered the charm on his boss, it did not work.

His boss identified only as Mrs. Adeyemi, discovered his evil ploy and sent him away.

Sunday allegedly obtained N45, 000 from Sumaila under the false pretence of preparing the charm and gave some substance which he will use but eventually failed him.

Sumaila reported the fraud to the police who arrested the fake spiritualist.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Kokoye Olusegun, told the court the incident happened at the Ijora area of the state.

The prosecutor said the duo was facing a two-count charge bordering on fraud and obtaining under false pretense.

But the duo pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr. M.A. Etti, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Etti ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of their bail condition.

The Magistrate adjourned the matter till 29 January for further hearing.
