Two lesbian girls based in Warri, Delta state have left Facebook on meltdown after they shared their suggestive photos on social media.

The girls identified as Prince Parpistud and Lawrencia Aligasi boldly expressed their affection in the photos without fear.

'She makes me speechless with everything she does can't help it but fall deeper each day.

"I dedicate this to my heartbeat...my source of happiness I can't live u for the world cause u are my world. good morning LGBT.' Prince Parpistud wrote.

But soon after that, the girls were forced to delete the photos and deactivate their Facebook accounts due to the backlash that followed.

The were attacked by homophobic Nigerians who called them all manner of names and reminded them that the law in Nigeria prohibits the act.

Under Nigeria's Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act signed into law by former President Goodluck Jonathan on the 13th of January, 2014, it is  a crime to have a meeting of gays, to operate or go to a gay club, society or organization, or make any public show of affection.

The law stipulates that: "A person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies or organizations, or directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offense and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years."

Anyone convicted of entering into a same-sex marriage contract or civil union faces up to 14 years imprisonment.
