According to Punch newspaper, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has issued 24-hour ultimatum to owners of petrol stations in Ekiti State to resume the selling of petrol.

The governor threatened to revoke the Certificates of Occupancy of defaulters, if they failed to comply.

"Governor Fayose has given owners of petrol stations in Ekiti State 24 Hours ultimatum to begin to sell fuel to the people or have the Certificate of Occupancies (CofO) of their Petrol Stations revoked," a statement by Lere Olayinka the Governor's Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media reads.

It would be recalled that fuel marketers in the state had since Monday last week closed shop in compliance with the directives of the leadership of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petrol Tanker Drivers (PTD), which ordered their members in the state to stop bringing the product to the state.

The marketers embarked on the indefinite strike over what they described as open victimisation of members by Governor  Ayodele Fayose.
