Anambra PDP Sacks National Publicity Secretary, Olisah Metuh

 

Lawyer and National Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisah Metuh, has been suspended by the Anambra State PDP based on its decision on allegations of embezzlement.

 

According to a statement released and signed by the state party Publicity Secretary, Kenneth Arinze on Friday, Mr Metuh’s suspension followed a previous suspension from Otolo Nnewi Ward I, which is the national publicity secretary’s ward.

The statement reads: “Following the suspension of Chief Olisa Metuh by the Otolo Ward 1 Nnewi of the PDP (where Olisa hails from) and the ratification of same by the Nnewi North Local Government chapter, the sState executive committee, after assessing the weighty allegations against Olisa Metuh and finding them heinous, in compliance with the PDP Constitution, hereby, ratifies the suspension and forward same to the National Working Committee (NWC)”.

 

Other signees to the statement include,  Victor Osy Ezenwa, Basil Ejidike (secretary), Dr. Maduka Nwankwo (chairman, South), Kelue Molokwu (vice chairman, Central) and Chief Osy Chinwuba (chairman, North).

 

The chapter after its executive meeting held on Wednesday urged Metuh to stop parading himself as a  member and officer of the party pending when he will subject himself to the party disciplinary committee.

 

The allegations come after workers at the PDP’s national secretariat in Abuja accused the party’s leadership of squandering N12bn in nine months.
