Horror: Mother Pours Paraffin On Her Son's Hands and Sets Them Ablaze...You Won't Believe Why

 

A Kenyan boy as young as seven years, has been admitted in hospital after he was allegedly burnt by his mother.

 

According to SDE, he was alleged to have been punished for stealing Sh200 from a neighbour.

 

The boy was rescued by officials of Fadhili Trust Child Rights Group and taken to Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.

 

He was said to have been locked up in his home at Mikauni village, Nthongoni location in Kibwezi East constituency.

 

According to the lobby’s field officer in Mtito Andei, Rosemary Muthoni, the boy’s mother doused his hands with paraffin and set them ablaze last Thursday, then locked him up in the house for five days without food.

 

The woman, who works as a househelp in the village, was said to have been at work when the officials arrived at her home.

 

Muthoni said the boy’s hands had started rotting because of the untreated wounds.

 

The village headman and villagers notified the rights group about the boy’s plight.

 

“The boy was burned on both hands and has been rotting in the house. This is not the first incident from this area. A similar one happened last year - a woman doused her son with kerosene and set him on fire,” she said.

 

The field officer, with the help of police officers from Mtito Andei station, broke into the house and found the boy writhing in pain. The woman was arrested.

 

A source said the boy was first taken to theNairobi Women’s Hospital and later transferred to Kenyatta, where he had surgery.
