New details have emerged on the woman who survived for 25 days inside the wilderness after she got lost in it.

Police believe Lisa Theris was high on meth when she got lost in the woods for 25 days (Picture: ITV)

Lisa Theris, a 25-year-old woman who allegedly survived n*ked and alone in Alabama woods for a month could have got lost because she was high on meth.

According to Daily Mail Online, investigators were left scratching their heads when 25-year-old Lisa Theris emerged after the two men she had been with had blamed each other for her apparent murder.

Miss Theris staggered out of the woodland covered in bites and mud on the a highway in Midway, Alabama last Saturday afternoon and was spotted by a passing motorist.

She had lost 45 lbs but was unharmed and claimed she survived by eating berries and wild mushrooms and drinking water from muddy puddles and creeks.

She was last seen with petty criminals Randall Wade Oswald, 36, and Manley Green Davis, 31, and is believed to have got high on meth. The pair were so freaked out at her disappearance they blamed each other for killing her.

Bullock County Sheriff Raymond Rodgers told DailyMail.com. ‘They were so geeked out that they started blaming each other for a murder that didn’t happen.

‘They were as relieved as we were when she walked out of those woods. They were thinking they killed her.’

The two petty thieves admitted to being involved in a robbery on the day Miss Theris, who has bipolar disorder and is registered legally blind, went missing. They both admit she was with them but she denies the accusation saying she jumped out of a truck on the way to the crime.

Her account is now being questioned by Alabama residents who do not believe she could have been lost for so long in  a small space.

One person who does not believe her is Oswald’s father George who says he searched the woodland on his quad bike and did not find her or any berries during his searches, he claims he is ‘the pope’ if she is telling the truth.

There were also unproven accusations she had been seen shopping in Walmart during the 25 days she was missing, however, there were no confirmed sightings of her.

Sheriff Rodgers has his own theory. He said: ‘We are thinking they were all pretty much on drugs, I think she was on meth, she was hallucinating and she just got lost in the woods.

‘I don’t know how much drugs she took but I believe she was in there the whole time.’

Since getting home Miss Theris has given a series of TV interviews detailing her time in the woods and denying she is making the whole tale up to get away with robbery.

Since she inadvertently shot to fame, details about her wild ways and a scrape with the law concerning drunken and disorderly conduct have been revealed.

However, investigating officer in the case Sergeant Chad Faulkner, believes she is not lying and claimed the police were not ‘gullible or stupid’ but are ‘going off the evidence.’
