Why Buhari Must Dialogue with Nnamdi Kanu - Ohanaeze Youths Reject Call for Restructuring

Ohanaeze Youths Council, OYC, on Tuesday said President Muhammadu Buhari should dialogue with the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

According to a Press release which was made available to reporters in Owerri on Tuesday, the Ohanaeze Youths Council (OYC), have rejected the call for the restructuring of Nigeria.

The National Publicity Secretary of OYC, Igboayaka .O. Igboayaka, stated that one of their reasons, was that the same politicians who mismanaged the economy of the country were using restructuring as a disguise to return to power.

He also thanked the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for taking the country to a point where issues are discussed.

OYC state further that Nnamdi Kanu has achieved what no man has dared to do in Nigeria, through IPOB, which has resulted to the recent call to restructure Nigeria.

The statement reads; “Hiding under the restructure just to launch themselves back to political power in Nigeria. The same people who have crippled the economy and governance of Nigeria and governance of Nigeria cannot claim saint to restructure Nigeria. At this point, when Nigeria youths are tired of political crisis since 57 years.

“Nigeria government should discuss with IPOB, rather than apply. We also call on the leadeeship of President Mohammadu Buhari, to institute a sovereign National Conference to address the so called Nigeria unity.

“OYC has resolved resolved that a true sovereign national conference with the majority of Nigeria tribes and ethnic nationality youths bodies will proffer a lasting solution.”
