In what will come across as a really shocking development, a man has stabbed a female journalist in the throat.

Tatiana Felgengauer

According to a Daily Star UK report, a man has stabbed a female journalist in the throat after forcing his way into a radio station.

He entered the Echo of Moscow station in the Russian capital and gave Tatiana Felgengauer a hug before attacking her.

She was taken to hospital and the suspect – named as Boris Gertz – was subdued by the station’s security guards.

One worker said the suspect used pepper spray to incapacitate a guard as he entered the building.

He also slashed the hand of another staff member as he was detained.

Another man believed to be his accomplice has escaped.

Tatiana, 32, is the deputy editor and host of one of the station’s talk shows.

Her dad is a prominent military analyst in Russia who is often critical of the authorities.

The attack may have been motivated by a personal feud, local media reports.

Eyewitness Sergey Buntman said: “Tanya did not lose her consciousness. The paramedics said that her blood pressure was normal.

"When they put a bandage her condition was average. They did not check how deep the wound was, the first task was to stop the bleeding.

"Doctors did a great job and quickly took Tanya to hospital, and she is there now.”

Pictures from the scene show security pinning the suspect to the ground and blood on the floor.

He is reported to have told police: "I have never met her in reality but I have seen and felt her. She was very obtrusive, she was in my head."

A spokesman for the Russian General Prosecutor’s Office said: “This was an outrageous incident. My words of support to staff at the radio station.”
