Alexis Ohanian recently wed iconic tennis player Serena Williams after the pair had their first baby together earlier this year.

 

Ohanian, 34, may only be known as Serena’s husband in some circles, but he is generally best known as one of the co-founders of Reddit.

 

The tech entrepreneur met one of the world’s greatest tennis players at a lunch in Rome last year and the pair hit it off as they were engaged mere months later.

 

One year later, Alexis has a very talented lady by his side and a new baby in his arms but what is the tech entrepreneur worth?

 

The Reddit co-founder is said to be worth $9m mostly from the sale of his company Reddit, while his new wife Serena Williams is worth $27m – she is the 51st highest paid athlete in the world.

 

Serena was the only female on the Forbes 100 highest paid athletes in 2017 and despite being pregnant for much of the year, Williams still managed to make $8m (£6m).

 

Alexis Ohanian was born in Brooklyn and came up with Reddit.com with his friend Steve Huffman, with the goal of the site becoming the ‘front page of the internet.’

 

Reddit.com was acquired by Condé Nast in 2006 for a reported $20m, but Ohanian continued to work on the site’s Board of Directors after selling up. He has since left the company and has worked on several other projects, charitable projects, and investment ventures.

 

Ohanian championed a political movement when he spoke out against Congress’s Stop Online Piracy Act and the Senates Protect IP Act. He also campaigned for the open internet during the 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential debates.

 

Forbes dubbed him ‘Mayor of the Internet’ in the same year, and he was named one of the most influential activists of 2012.

 

In early 2017, he worked with teenager Rayouf Alhumedhi to get a hijab emoji.

 

In December 2016, Ohanian and Williams became engaged and on September 1, 2017, the pair welcomed their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

 

Alexis and Serena were married on November 16, 2017.
