Victoria King, a71-year-old ‘devoted’ mother and daughter have been identified as victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

According to Daily Star UK, Victoria King and her daughter Alexandra Atala, 40, died at each other’s side, their family said.

The two were both in the towerblock when flames broke out on June 14, and were two of the 71 to perish that night. Relatives said in a statement: ‘We were devastated to hear of our sister, Vicky’s, fate, and that of her daughter, Alexandra, in the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

‘Some comfort can come from the knowledge that she and Alexandra were devoted to one another and spent so many mutually-supportive years together.

‘They died at each other’s side and now they can rest together in peace.

‘We will remember them always.’

Earlier today, police said a stillborn baby has been formally recorded as a victim of the tragedy.

In the days following, the baby’s parents Marcio and Andreia Gomes spoke of their heartbreak at losing their unborn baby son.

The couple had managed to escape from the 21st floor of the burning building with their two young daughters. After getting out Mrs Gomes lay unconscious and gave birth to a stillborn child. The pair had already named him Logan Isaac.

Commander Stuart Cundy said: ‘The human cost and terrible reality of what took place at Grenfell Tower affects so many people.

‘Our search operation and ongoing investigation is about those people. ‘Tragically, that night, 70 children and adults died and a baby was stillborn.

‘My thoughts, and those of all my colleagues in the Met Police, are with all those who lost their loved ones, those who survived, the local community and all those who live with this tragedy every day.’
