An alleged thief got the shock of his life after a mob descended on him for allegedly stealing from a passenger.
Uwem after he was caught
A Nigerian man identified as Mr Uwem has reportedly got the beating of his life from a mob after he was allegedly caught this morning by some men stealing from a passenger.
It was gathered that Uwem allegedly stole money from a man’s pocket in a moving vehicle in Akwa Ibom state before he was caught and dealt with mercilessly.
The incident happened in a mini bus heading to Ekom Iman junction from Plaza in Uyo, the state capital.
It was gathered that the suspect after achieving his aim, alighted from the bus along University of Uyo Teaching Hospital at Abak Road and was about to board a tricycle. That was when the victim noticed that his pocket has been emptied.
The victim raised an alarm as the suspect was chased and caught and was taken to Etinan park at Ekom Iman junction where he was mobbed and beaten.
While affirming his guiltiness, Mr Uwem who hailed from Ikot Akpan Abia, Ibesikpo pleaded for forgiveness.
”I followed him from plaza when I noticed that there was money in his pocket, please forgive me,” he said
The suspect was later set free by Chairman of the park after pleading for mercy.
