Days after news broke that the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, allegedly forged her NYSC Exemption letter, the federal government has finally given its first known public remark on the certificate forgery scandal of the minister.

TORI News had reported on Monday that the management of Youth Service Corps (NYSC), waded into the controversy trailing the authenticity of the Exemption Certificate tendered by the Minister.

In a three paragraph statement, the scheme said available records indicate that Mrs. Adeosun did apply for an Exemption Certificate, adding that investigations were still ongoing.

While speaking after today's Federal Executive Council meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja, the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, said he had nothing further to add to the NYSC’s position.

“I have nothing to add to what the NYSC has said. The NYSC is part of government and it has spoken,” Mohammed told PREMIUM Times.

It is the government’s first public comment on the case as several calls and request for information to different officials have gone unanswered in the past days.
