Deceased woman, Erika Tommassian
A woman named Erika Tommassian was found dead with her 1-year-old son in her apartment in Hollywood, California.
Her other 2-year-old was found dehydrated. He survived on his own for days, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say the single mom died while feeding her 1-year-old son. According to reports, Erika had a pre-existing medical condition and respiratory problems. The boy choked on the food and also died, police say.
They were discovered when a neighbour who had heard the cry of the 2-year-old. The neighbour went to check on the woman when she didn't return her calls and notified the police.
The LAPD said the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) will handle that child's placement.
