Fayose's claim of being attacked by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force has ended up creating more comic relief on social media as Nigerians continue to mock him.
Governor Ayodele Fayose on 'set'
There was drama in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday as Governor Ayo Fayose said he was brutalised by policemen who allegedly stormed the main entrance to the Ekiti State Government House to stop a rally by the Peoples Democratic Party.
Residents said there were gunshots at the main entrance to the Government House while tear gas canisters were reportedly shot to disperse the crowd at the rally.
Like a scene from a Nollywood movie, Fayose appeared in what looked like a costume - neck collar and arm sling as he cried about being beaten by the police with his supporters swarming him.
The video has inspired some social media to make comedy skits under the hastags#FayoseChallenge, #AmInPains and #FakeItLikeFayose which has dominated Twitter.
