How The Late IGP, Coomassie Ordered My Detention In Kirikiri Prison - Shehu Sani Opens Up

A serving Nigerian senator, Shehu Sani, has opened up on how the late IG of police, Coomassie ordered his detention in prison.

Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, has recalled how the late Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Coomassie ordered his arrest and detention in 1995, but that they later became best of friends after the encounter.

In a post on his Facebook, Sani said he visited the IGP on his sick bed recently before his demise
 
“Dr Ibrahim Coomasie ordered for my arrest and signed my detention order in Kiri Kiri Prison, Lagos in 1995 and when I was released from Prison, he reached out to me and we became ‘friends.

“I related with him as my father. I visited him at home a couple of times and visited him while on his sick bed few weeks ago.”

“We lost a patriot, an elder-statesman, a thorough bred professional and a man ever passionate about his country and his people.”

“May his soul Rest In Aljanna Firdausi.Amin.”
