David Mark who re-affirmed his decision to remain in PDP despite the party's loss has dropped another controversial statement. The Senate President says the party could be heading for 'final destruction'.

According Senate President, David Mark, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could be heading for a "final destruction" unless the internal fighting in the party is brought to an end, Channels reports.
As PDP awaits the outcome of the post-election committee set up to investigate the party’s loss in the 2015 March/April elections, several factions have sprung up, with many pointing accusing fingers at each other for the election loss.
In a statement by the spokesman for the Senate President, Mr Paul Mumeh, Mr Mark warned that “the PDP is already hemorrhaging and unless this is halted, party members may be heading for the final burial of the party”.
The Senate President said the emerging factions were absolutely unnecessary and asked that the combatants must sheathe their swords and embrace dialogue.
He said a useful lesson had been learnt from the PDP electoral misfortune but stakeholders must rise above the present circumstances and work hard to rejuvenate the party.
