An abusive husband identified simply as Audu Friday, has been accused of killing his brother-in-law who tried defending his sister while he was assaulting her.
Gabriel Otse, the Commandant of the Benue State Vigilante Group (BSVG) who confirmed the incident which occurred at Okploba in Ogebe, Apa-Agila community, Benue State, told newsmen that Audu had a clash with his wife which resulted in slapping her.
Late Onwe was said to have mobilized about four of his friends to fight his brother in-law, Audu, after his sister ran back home to report the case of domestic abuse.
The abusive husband who is now cooling off in police cell, was said to have gained an upper hand and ended up killing Onwe.
The body of the deceased has now been deposited in the mortuary.
