Vanguard reports that a team of policemen drafted from Zone 5, Benin City, Edo State, Sunday, arrested a paramount chief of Ogulagha kingdom, Chief John Diegbegha on allegation of forgery.
The arrest of Chief Diegbegha is in pursuant to a petition against him and 11 orders to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 5 by Pastor Christopher Isiayei on behalf of the people of Ogulagha community.
Other allegations leveled again the Ogulagha chief according to the petition, include, attempt to promote communal war, impersonation, obtaining money by false pretense and demanding money by forceful menace.
Though efforts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer in charge of Zone 5 was fruitless. However, a senior police officer confirmed the arrest to Vanguard when contacted.
The officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, hinted that investigation into the matter is still on going adding that the suspect would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
