Lewis Hamilton has said he never sprayed Putin. Trending news on web suggests that Hamilton sprayed Putin champagne as the Russian President left the winners' podium in Sochi.

Lewis Hamilton, Formula One world Champion has dismissed suggestions that he sprayed Russian President Vladmir Putin with the winner's champagne after he joined his team in celebrating their second successive constructors' championship in Sochi.

On Monday, he told Sky Sports television: "I actually didn't. I didn't actually spray him. I think there's a weird picture but I didn't spray him. I definitely don't want anything (to happen),"

Photographs surfaced to show dark flecks of champagne foam on the back of Putin's jacket as he left the podium after presenting Hamilton with the winner's trophy on Sunday. This has become a trending topic on twitter as many had suggested Hamilton will face serious punishment for his untoward antics.

Last April, Hamilton got into trouble after he was criticized and accused of sexist bullying for aiming a spray of champagne directly in the face of a Chinese Grand Prix hostess in shanghai.

He faced severe criticism and condemnation in Britain and Germany as well as Chinese social media who saw it as an abuse but the hostess chose to play it down.

Hamilton is back in Britain to join his team's celebrations after they won their second successive constructors' championship in Russia.
