Rotimi Amaechi has missed the first batch of the ministerial nominees being currently screened by the Nigerian Senate due to the bureaucratic processes of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petition.

The Senate,Tuesday, failed to screen the former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi along other first batch of ministerial nominees.

The screening of the former Director General of Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation was deferred till Wednesday.

The Senate could not screen Amaechi due to the inability of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Public Petition to submit report of clearance on Amaechi after his appearance before the committee on Monday.

Amaechi appeared before the committee the previous day to defend himself following petitions of alleged corrupt acts against him by some groups from his state.

Meanwhile, the committee cleared another nominee, Mrs Amina Ibrahim, who was equally petitioned by some persons from Kaduna State on allegation that she was not an indigene of the state.
