A Thai witch doctor bagged 22 years imprisonment for deception and sexual assault.
A Bangkok Criminal court has sentenced Thanawat Asawaponsuwan, known locally as Dr Karawek to 22 years and 8 months in prison for fraud and sexual assault.
According to a newspaper report, Thanawat had advertised on local websites that he had "black magic powers" and could create love potions to help entice the opposite sex.
Thanawat had compelled his victims to perform sexual acts with him as compensation for his services.
The court found Thanawat guilty of fraud and sexual assault after he failed to prove that he possessed any supernatural powers as he had earlier said.
He was therefore handed 22 years and 8 months imprisonment for fraud and sexual assault.
