Bafarawa has committed his future to the main opposition party in Nigeria, PDP, as he rules out any plan to defect.

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Attahiru Bafarawa, has insisted that he will remain in the party until he quits politics.
Bafarawa stated this while appearing on RoadMap 2019, a programme on Channels Television.
According to the former Sokoto Governor, PDP is now truly a people’s party and is bigger than any member.
“We not allow people to take over the leadership of the party. The party is supreme than the President, Governors, they are agents of the party.
“The party is supreme than anybody, when the party is not supreme, then there is no democracy.
“As far as PDP is concerned, I will remain in PDP until I quit from politics,” Bafarawa said.
