The Real Reason Why Senate Deferred Amaechi's Ministerial Screening

The Senate for the second time deferred the screening of ministerial nominee and former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi.

The Upper Chamber on Wednesday, October 14, cleared 18 ministerial nominees, but deferred the screening of former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
 
 
The former Rivers State Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s screening was deferred because the petition against him had not been considered by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions.
 
However, he is also likely to be screened today, Thursday, October 15.
 
Those who were cleared on Wednesday,were Senator Udoma Udo-Udoma, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Dr. Osage Ehanire, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Amina Mohammed and Suleiman Adamu.
 
Also cleared were Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, Senator Chris Ngige, Abubakar Malami (SAN), Senator Aisha Alhassan, Mr. Solomon Dalong, Ms. Kemi Adeosun, Mr. Hadi Sirika and Mr. Ibrahim Jibril.
