NCC Sends Call Log of Insurgents, Kidnappers to Security Operatives

The Nigerian Communications Commission, yesterday revealed that it had forwarded the call log of suspected kidnappers and insurgents to the relevant security operatives.

 
 
The Nigerian Communications Commission, on Thursday, October 14, revealed that it monitors call data of suspected kidnappers and insurgents and has submitted same to the relevant security operatives.
 
NCC’s Deputy Director Consumers Affairs, Mr Femi Atoyebi made this known while speaking at the NCC Day at the ongoing International Trade Fair in Abuja.
 
He said the commission had been working with security operatives on the fight against insurgency and kidnapping, but have not revealed much because it borders on security which is sensitive.
 
Atoyebi said the telecoms sector is one of the major victims of insurgency as operators’ facilities were mostly destroyed in the northeast.
