A son has killed his mother in cold blood after inflicting her with deadly machete cuts in Jos, Plateau State.

An update on the story, reveals that police have apprehended the suspect after rescuing him from the hands of the mob who nearly killed for his despicable act.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Emmanuel Abuh said that the suspect, Bravo Kunde, a junior staff in an old generation bank in Jos murdered his own mother in the early hours of yesterday.
Mama Yakubu was said to have died when his son inflicted deadly machete cuts on her body and head which left her dead.
According to a relative, trouble started in the early hours of 6am when the old woman was crying for help after his son dealt her machete cuts. But, before help could come, the old woman bled to death.
In his words, Baba Nati a relative of the deceased said: “Neighbours heard shouts in the house at about 6am as the old woman was crying for help but before they could get there, the old woman was already lying in the pool of her blood.”
The son who killed his mother was known for his excessive smoking of Indian hemp and drinking habit which he has been warned to stop. Everything got out of hand that early morning when he suddenly pounced on his mother and killed her in cold blood.
The relatives out of anger beat the suspect to coma. He was beaten beyond recognition before the police came to his aid and took him to the hospital.
His younger brother, Moses Yakubu explained that the suspect, showed restlessness before the incident. Yakubu said no one knows what must have made him take such a wicked decision to kill their helpless mother. He also noted that the effect of the indian hemp and excessive drinking habit of his brother must have affected his decision to kill their mother.
Yakubu said: “Before now, he has been doing strange things, but this is the worst thing he has performed,”
Investigation into the matter to ascertain what prompted the suspect to kill his mother is ongoing,
