HHP, a very popular South African rapper, is dead.
According to TimesLive, the death of the rapper was confirmed by his wife on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Lerato Sengadi, his publicist wife, spoke from the scene.
"Yes, yes, it's true. I am with the family at the moment," said a traumatised Sengadi. However, details surrounding the cause of his death have not be released.
HHP whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo according to reports had opened up in the past about his struggles with depression. According to TimesLive, another media outlet SowetanLive reported back in 2015 that HHP had attempted to commit suicide on several occasions.
HHP's close friend and musician Khuli Chana has told TshisaLIVE the mood at the star's house on Wednesday afternoon was sombre and that everyone was devastated by his death.
Khuli spoke to TshisaLIVE minutes after visiting HHP's home to pay his respects. He said he was heartbroken by his friend's death.
Messages have however started pouring out from his colleagues including AKA and Da L.E.S who have both eulogised the late award-winning rapper on their Twitter pages.
HHP was 38 and had a number of awards to his shelf which includes; South African Music Award for Male Artist of the Year, MTV Africa Music Award for Video of the Year in 2009.
