According to Calcio Mercato, Antonio Conte wants to make Paul Pogba his first signing at Real Madrid, should he be appointed to take over from Julen Lopetegui this week.

The former Chelsea boss has been out of work since leaving Stamford Bridge during the summer, but he has been heavily linked with the top job at the Santiago Bernabeu following the team's poor run of results at the start of the season.

Pogba is reportedly the subject of interest from a number of top clubs - including Barcelona and Juventus - and if Madrid join the race to sign the Frenchman a bidding war could ensue during the winter transfer window.

Is there a danger Mauricio Pochettino could leave as Tottenham manager? The Argentine says he is currently feeling the ‘worst’ of any point in his time as Spurs boss.

Pochettino has regularly been linked with the Manchester United and Real Madrid jobs, although it appears he will not be offered the latter role, with Antonio Conte set to replace Julen Lopetegui at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, despite Spurs’ impressive start to the season, Pochettino is not happy after a summer which saw the club sign no first-team players and the delay in the new stadium being ready.
