President Muhammadu Buhari's refusal to submit his certificate to INEC has been challenged in court by a Nigerian.

Itsede Kingsley Okai has filed a suit in court against president Muhammadu Buhari and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The suit it was gathered was filed before the Federal High Court, Lagos to challenge Buhari’s qualification to stand for the 2019 Presidential Election.
This is coming after INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu some days ago said there is room for legal action if anyone is in doubt of claims by candidates in the 2019 elections.
President Muhammadu Buhari had told the commission that his academic records are still with the military, sparking reactions, especially from critics of the government.
Speaking specifically about the personal particulars provided by the candidates, Yakubu said anyone suspecting false claims has the right to file legal action against such candidate.
Addressing a press conference at the commission headquarters on Friday, Yakubu said any doubt on the forms submitted by the candidates regarding their personal particulars can be challenged in court.

“Like I promised on Friday, I have filed a suit against Buhari and INEC before the Federal High Court, Lagos to challenge his qualification to stand for the 2019 Presidential Election. For this reason, I shall speak less of this matter since it’s already before the Court. I believe in the Nigerian judiciary and hopeful the court will end this debate once and for all”.
