Kaduna state Governor-elect, Nasir El-Rufai has announced that he won't be interfering with local government operations when sworn in.

News24 reported that his spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, said El-Rufai gave the pledge when a forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen in the state paid him a congratulatory visit.

He said, ''We must do what our people want and what will benefit them and we must be firm in bringing positive change and coherent development in Kaduna state. We will not touch a kobo or naira of local government councils in the state. The local government areas must be allowed to deliver development and real change''.

''They must go and work; development is practical and not invisible. We will not tolerate waste and mismanagement of public resources. We will also not tolerate incompetence from officials charged with promoting the well-being of our state''.
