The Senate minority leader of the People's Democratic Party, PDP and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio was pictured returning home late yesterday night after a grilling session by EFCC operatives.

Akpabio was reported to have been arrested for interrogations by the anti-graft agency relating to cases of gross corruption and misappropriation during his time as the governor of the oil rich state.

The Senate minority leader and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State later took to twitter to rubbish reports of his arrest, claiming he was simply invited by the EFCC for questioning, of which he obliged.

He was welcomed by friends and aides as he returned back to his base yesterday.
