After Being stopped by a court from investigating Governor Ganduje after he was reportedly exposed collecting bribe, Kano assembly has taken a tough decision.

Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje

Baffa Dan’Agundi, the chairman of the Kano House of Assembly ad hoc committee investigating the bribe-taking videos of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, said the committee would continue with its work as the court order did not stop them from their investigation, according to Daily Nigerian.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, Mr Dan’Agundi said they members of the panel had studied the order alongside their lawyers and arrived at the conclusion that the order did not stop them from their work but only asked them to “maintain status quo”.

On Monday, a Kano High Court presided over by Justice A.T. Badamasi ordered the Kano State House of Assembly to “maintain status quo ante” pending the determination of the suit.

The order was sought by one Muhammad Zubair on behalf of Lawyers for Sustainable Democration of Nigeria.

“The Respondents should be served before the closed (sic) of work today.

“Accelerated hearing is hereby ordered and the respondents are given 4 days to respond to this application after service.

“Parties should maintain status quo ante pending the determination of the motion on notice.”

The judge therefore adjourned the matter till November 12 for hearing.
