New Minimum Wage: Senator Owie Blasts Buhari Government Over N30,000 Workers' Salary

President Muhammadu Buhari has been carpeted over his government's stance on the new minimum wage.

Senator Roland Ovie, Chairman of the National Contact Committee of African Democratic Party, ADP, has described President Muhammadu Buhari government as ‘wicked’ for refusing to pay workers the N30,000 minimum wage being demanded by Labour unions, according to a report by Dailypost.
 
Speaking in a statement he personally signed, he said that governments have the capacity to pay even more than that.
 
Owie said it was wickedness of the highest order for a government that raised pump price fuel to refused to increase workers salary.
 
President Muhammadu Buhari had yesterday said he was committed to the welfare of Nigerian workers.
 
The presidency later released a statement saying that the President was yet to take a stand on the N30,000 agreed upon by the tripartite committee.
