There was serious confusion on Tuesday as five lawmakers who reportedly planned to impeach Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom were stopped.

There was serious panic and confusion at the resumed sitting of the of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, on Tuesday as the five APC lawmakers met and commenced impeachment proceedings against the state Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.
Punch reported that the five lawmakers were the ones whose seats were recently declared vacant by the speaker of the House, Mr. Onofiok Luke.
It was gathered that they arrived early at the assembly complex with thugs and heavily armed policemen and with a mace to commence the impeachment of the governor.
They chased everyone out, manhandled the press secretary to the speaker, Kufre Okon and headed straight to the chambers.
