Famous South African Paralympic star, Oscar Pistorius, has been released from prison in South Africa and placed under house arrest.
It will be recalled that the former Olympic athlete had been in prison since October last year, when a judge sentenced him to five years for culpable homicide in the killing of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius shot the model and law school graduate on Valentine's Day 2013. He claimed in his defense that he mistook her for an intruder.
Oscar Pistorius must meet with the parents of Reeva Steenkamp, the girlfriend he shot to death, as a condition of his prison release, a South African official said.
The embattled athlete must continue psychotherapy and is banned from possessing a firearm.
He had served nearly one year out of a five-year sentence.
