A competent security source said heavy gun shots left the people of Bama awake till about 5am.

There was jubilation in Bama early morning on Friday after the gallant troops fought suspected Boko Haram insurgents in an attempt to penetrate Bama town.
The incident occurred at about 3:45am when the insurgents came through abattoir area axis to gain access to the ancient town of Bama at about 3:45am this morning.
According to the security source the heavy gun shots kept the people awake till about 5am.
“There was an attempt by terrorists to penetrate Bama early hours but our gallant troops repel it,” security source told a Daily Trust correspondent.
Resident Ajai Mohammed said there was panic at the beginning when they started hearings heavy sounds of gunshots but after an hour later it ceased.
“We are happy this morning that evil people were defeated, the soldiers fought and we are thankful to them. Everyone is jubilating now.
“it was artillery gun shots that woke me up, I quickly tap my wife so we set for next, there was deafening sound towards an abattoir area for about an hour. We went to the area but soldiers refused to give us the details.” Ajai said.
It came less than 6 hours Boko Haram insurgents attacked Rann in Kala Balge council last night.
