The Kogi state police have foiled an attempt to bomb the Kogi State Government House and property belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu.

Tom Ohikere, the head of the media of Prince Abubakar Audu Campaign Organisation, while speaking about the incident, said that hired hoodlums attempted to bomb a house and petrol station belonging to the former governor.
According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was also planning to eliminate the leaders of the APC in the state, ahead of the gubernatorial election in the state.
PM News reports that in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 20, Ohikere revealed that the hoodlums who were on mission to bomb the government house were arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
Emmanuel Ojukwu, the state commissioner of police, who paraded at least eight suspects on Friday, October 16, disclosed that the hoodlums were planning to disrupt the November 21governorship election in the state.
However, the Audu campaign spokesman revealed that the investigation found out that Audu and his property were the major targets. He also queried the true identities of those suspects paraded by the police, alleging that they were not the same hoodlums who were arrested at Ejule.
Addressing the PDP in the state, Ohikere urged members of the party to desist from using any undemocratic means of remaining in power. According to him, the electorate, who are tired of being deceived for so long, have decided to vote for positive change in the coming governorship election.
Continuing the statement, Ohikere called on the law enforcement agents to be vigilant and proactive especially now, when anti-democratic forces are hell bent on destabilising the state.
Addressing the party’s supporters in the state, Ohikere advised them to remain calm and law abiding. He also expressed confidence that the PDP-led administration would be sent packing in the forthcoming governorship poll.
