Two Chinese diplomats lost their lives and another was seriously wounded after they were attacked inside a restaurant.
A regional police director, Tom Banas, confirmed on Wednesday that two Chinese Diplomats were shot dead in Philippines by an aggrieved husband of another embassy official while another was wounded.
According to Police, the victims and suspects were inside a restaurant in Cebu City, 571 kilometres south of Manila, in Phillipines when the incident happened.
Police investigation revealed that Li Qing Liang, 60, first shot at the Chinese Deputy Consul, Sun Shan, finance officer, Hui Li and Chinese Consul General, Song Rong Hua inside the restaurant.
Sun and Hui died of bullet wounds and were declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital, Song suffered serious bullet wounds and is in critical condition.
Banas said the cause of the shooting is unknown.
Police investigation is ongoing to determine why the suspect killed two diplomats. It has been confirmed that Li and his wife Gou Jing are in policy custody.
