The PDP looks divided once again as Senators are soon set to vote in the new Senate President. Reports say that some members are backing David Mark's candidate while others Ike Ekweremadu's candidate.

Senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP may not be voting as a unit when the next senate President is elected.

THE NATION reports that many loyalists of the outgoing Senate President David Mark are backing Senator Ahmad Lawan while Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu is poised to form an alliance with Senator Bukola Saraki.

The Mark camp is siding Lawan because they believe he can preserve the legacies of the outgoing senate president while Ekweremadu is opting for Saraki because to protect the South-East.
