Popular Nigerian On-Air Personality, Denrele Edun, has visited the graveside of Goldie, a Nigerian singer who died years ago.
Goldie was a dear friend of Denrele and her death left him absolutely distraught. Since she died, Denrele has maintained the ritual of going to her graveside every year to pay tribute.
Yesterday, February 14th was the 6th death anniversary of Goldie and Denrele did not fail to show up at her grave.
He posted photos from his visit on his Instagram page and wrote an emotional tribute.
He wrote: "My friend GOLDIE died 6 YEARS AGO on the 14TH OF FEBRUARY!
"I started to write about her yesterday, but found myself at such a loss.
"For 36 hours, I’ve been struggling to find the right words to describe my friend – to tell you about her, to explain why this loss is so tragic. And, I can’t seem to find them. Any death of someone so young is a tremendous loss, I know.
"GOLDIE was special. Dare I say extraordinary.
"I'm so scared of losing all those memories. I worry that as time passes my mind will shed those precious gifts. But I know that even if it does, GOLDIE is in a part of me that nobody can ever touch. There’s a Central Bank shaped compartment in my heart that will hold her ‘til the day I die!

"I'm way past this but I recall one artiste who called me exactly a day after Goldie's demise. And the convo went;
"Your friend is dead? Eeeeeyah.... and I was part of the people who used to diss her incessantly. What more can I say? There'll be space for us now".... I dropped my phone like hot coals! I was too distraught to hear the rest!
