Former Governor of Abia state, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu has been declared winner in the Abia North Senatorial District election which occured last Saturday February 23rd.
INEC returning officer, Charles Anumudu who announced this at the state collation center, said Kalu of the APC, polled a total of 31,203 votes to defeat the incumbent senator and PDP candidate, Mao Ohabunwa who polled a total of 20,801 votes.
Ohabunwa of the PDP has rejected the result and is calling for its cancellation.
