INEC Declares Sokoto State Governorship Election 'Inconclusive'

Governor Aminu Tambuwal faces an uphill task to return for a second term in office as the All Progressives Candidate was in a neck to neck contest with him.

 
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the Sokoto State Governorship Election "Inconclusive"
 
The Sokoto State governorship election which was declared inconclusive produced the figures below:
 
Aminu Tambuwal PDP 489,558 votes 
 
Ahmed Aliyu APC 486,145 votes
 
Margin of Winning 3,413
 
 
Cancellation in 136 polling units with 75,403 registered voters. A similar scenario also played out in Bauchi State where the gubernatorial race was declared inconclusive.
