The new Ooni, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi
The new monarch was expected to enter Ife yesterday from Lagos but sources said he had a stopover in Ibadan, Oyo state because necessary traditional rites required before he could enter the town could not be completed in Ife on Tuesday.
The source said: “our Kaabiesi (monarch) could not enter Ife yesterday due to the non-completion of necessary rituals. He would enter Ife today to begin the coronation rites and other necessary activities.”
The Lowa of Ife, High Chief Olasoji Ijaodola told Daily Trust that Ogunwusi would arrive in Ife today, Wednesday 28 and advised Ife indigenes and residents to come out to welcome the new monarch.
