A Katsina state man has landed in hot soup when he shocked everyone by allegedly defiling a minor.
A 35-year-old trader identified as Maharazu Ali, has appeared before a Senior Magistrates’ Court in Katsina on Wednesday to face trial over allegedly impregnating a minor. The accused, who resides at Kwamgaya Village in the Mani Local Government of Katsina State, appeared before the court on a count charge of rape.
According to Vanguard, the Police First Information Report (FIR) stated that one Mr M.S. Mahuta sent a petition to the Katsina State Commissioner of Police that the accused had impregnated his 13-year-old daughter. The FIR explained that the petition was forwarded to the Criminal Investigations Department on Sept. 17, pleading for investigation into the matter.
It was disclosed that the accused lured the minor into his shop and had sexual intercourse with her, an act that resulted to the minor getting pregnant. The FIR stated that hospital examination on the minor confirmed that the she was eight months pregnant.
The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Hashimu Musa, said the police were still investigating the matter.
The Magistrate, Nafisa Bagiwa, refused to take the plea of the accused and ordered the case file to be forwarded to the state’s ministry of justice for advice as she adjourned the case to Nov. 4.
