As many trooped in en masse to welcome the newly elected Ooni of Ife, ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo who was also present at the event gave the new monarch words of wisdom.

Cheif Olusegun Obasanjo visited the new Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi in Ile-Ife on Wednesday, October 28.
The ex-president congratulated the Ooni-elect and tasked him on the need to work with the people. Obasanjo reminded the new Ooni that his sole purpose for filling the prestigious throne of his forefathers was to bring joy to the hearts of his people.
He further charged him on the need to uphold the tradition and culture of the land. Mr. Obasanjo wished the new Ooni and the people of Ife well as he mounts the throne of his forefathers.
He called on all to support the new Ooni in making his rulership a prosperous one.
