A news reporter who was covering a 'nice' rescue dog was taken unawares and stunned when the dog suddenly turned around to bite him .
The moment the dog attacked
In a video making rounds, the dog, a pooch, appears to be some kind of black Labrador mix and is wagging its tail before it begins to attack.
As the dog turns around, a woman off camera can be heard shouting "grab him!" as the dog turns around and grabs hold of the man's hand.
They manage to pull the dog away before the camera skips to the bitten man, holding his injured wrist which has deep bite marks taken out of the side.
The clip was filmed in Brazil and has been viewed on LiveLeak over 40,000 times .
The clip has also attracted a lot of controversy in the comments section, with users remarking that you shouldn't pet an unknown dog and speculating on what the fate of the animal should be.
